Swadharma is the act of serving your own interests over the interests of others. It sometimes conflicts with the well being of society in the long run. But is it something that we can control?

The prevalent existence of patriarchy in our country has made us forget the existence of the matrilineal & matriarchal societies; that also existed & flourished in ancient India.

There are many roles that a woman assumes in her life & many more that she can, if she wants to.
A very happy Women’s Day to all the super women in our lives.

This time in #WorldOfAmish, we talk about The Vishnu. A character of unshakable morals who will create a new way of life, when the old one has outlived its purpose. What else do you think are the Vishnu’s responsibilities?

There are many legends behind the MahaShivaRatri, the Great Night of Lord Shiva.

While returning from his daily hunt, a poor tribal hunter, Lubdhaka, heard tigers growling.
He climbed a nearby ‘Bel’ tree & prayed to Lord Shiva to save his life.
To stop himself from falling asleep, he started plucking leaves from the tree and dropping them to the ground.
Only in the morning did he realize that he had been dropping the leaves on a Shivalinga.
The night was of Mahashivratri, & pleased with the offerings, Lord Shiva saved Lubdhaka’s life.

Brilliant article by @gchikermane. Rarely have I seen current events being explained so beautifully and philosophically, as a part of the greater arc of time in a nation's journey... https://t.co/yQAW48CVWS via @orfonline
